In Wake County alone you can find racing and car shows of all sorts almost every weekend. For some Friday night fun there is Wake County Speedway which hosts Late Model Sportsman, Modified, Street and Pure Stock Car Racing and also hosts car shows throughout the year. If drag racing is your thing, head on down to Dunn-Benson Dragstrip just south of Raleigh. For some serious adult fun, trust me these are not your kids go-carts, check out Rush Hour Karting, in Garner.
Thinking of getting away for the weekend? Head over to Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte for Nascar Racing, Dirt Track Racing, drifting exhibitions and more. If sports car racing is more your style, nothing beats SCCA racing at VIR just north of Roxboro. You might see some familiar faces at VIR as Pinnacle Automotive has been known to take a few spins around the track as well as many of our customers and friends. A weekend at VIR is great fun.
If you want to be in the drivers seat yourself there is no shortage of driving schools nearby, everything from The Richard Petty Driving Experience to Skip Barber Driving School. There are few things in life as exhilarating as taking your car out on a track, exploring its limits and yours. Stay safe and keep it between the lines.
